After Queensland's come-from-behind victory in 2025 State of Origin, NSW will be keen to strike back next season.

The concept will once again be returning to Melbourne's MCG with the middle match of the three series scheduled in AFL heartland.

While the Blues host the opening match of the series, the Maroons have the deciding third match on all-important home soil.

AllSportsPeople explains when and where State of Origin is in 2026.

State of Origin 2026 series schedule

Game 1

Wednesday, May 27 - Accor Stadium, Sydney

Can the Blues get off to a fast start at home in Sydney?

Losing the opener would be disastrous with the deciding match in Queensland.

The Blues won the first match in 2025 but were overhauled 2-1 in the series.

Game 2

Wednesday, June 17 - MCG, Melbourne

This will be the 11th time State of Origin has been played in Melbourne and the seventh time at the MCG.

NSW has won six times in Victoria, while Queensland has been victorious on four occasions.

Who will win the all-important second test?

Game 3

Wednesday, July 8 - Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

The decider will be held in Brisbane, which will be a huge advantage the Maroons.

If the series is 1-1, then Queensland will be huge favourites to clinch the title.

Will the series end up going to a deciding match?
