Ahead of Cronulla's elimination final against the Roosters, a lot has been made about the condition of Sharks Stadium, as fans debate whether or not it is fit for such a high profile contest.
Sharks enforcer Toby Rudolf has made his position clear, stating that he believes his side has earned the right to enjoy their home field advantage, while recognising how decrepit the ground has become.
"That's a fact, we smell the sewer every day especially when it rains," he said in an interview with 2GB.
"Whenever it rains a lot, our main building, known as the hub, actually floods.
"And reeks of sh*t, constantly.
"So, that's what we're dealing with every single day.
"And meanwhile, the Roosters are walking around in a brand new stadium, with all the mad facilities, and they want to have their finals, at their home ground.
"Well, too bad, you should have finished fifth. We've earned the right to have that final at home and, you know, want to be in the best facilities."
The 29-year-old went as far as to call out Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, pleading for government funding.
"Albanese, I know you're a Souths fan, but give us some funding, some nice change rooms, a sauna or two, throw us something, anything," he said.
