Penrith's unsung hero, Daine Laurie, is actively seeking a new club after being informed that the Panthers will not be offering him a new contract.
Currently on a one-year deal for 2025, he had been expecting a renewal for the upcoming season.
Reports indicate that the Panthers have decided against renewing his contract, prompting Laurie to look for new opportunities.
Since rejoining the team in 2024, he has played 21 games but has spent most of 2025 in the NSW Cup, serving as a backup to State of Origin fullback Dylan Edwards.

Laurie began his professional career with Penrith in 2020 before transferring to the Wests Tigers, where he played 49 games.
He returned to the Panthers in 2024 but now finds himself on the outside looking in.
According to Michael Chammas on Channel 9 this week, "He's been told by the club that there won't be a contract for him beyond this year." He is off-contract at the end of the year and has been informed that no offers are forthcoming.
"It's on the back of Mavrik Geyer being told the same thing from the Panthers. They're looking to replenish some of their depth players in their squad. Most of the players off-contract won't be getting new deals."
The Panthers had shown interest in signing Tyrell Sloan from the Dragons after he was given the green light to negotiate with other clubs, but Penrith has recently denied any interest in Sloan, who many believed could be a replacement for Laurie as Edwards' backup.
