The South Sydney Rabbitohs have strengthened their junior ranks by signing one of the NRL’s most promising young halves, Isaac Fotu-Moala, from rival club the Sydney Roosters.

The 2024 Under-18s NSW City playmaker has committed to a two-year deal with the Rabbitohs, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

The Central Coast Roosters’ Players’ Player of the Year in the Laurie Daley Cup,  is expected to make his mark in the Under-19s SG Ball Cup competition when he joins the Rabbitohs next year.

Fotu-Moala will compete with Matthew Humphries (contracted until 2027) for the coveted halfback jersey in South Sydney’s SG Ball Cup squad.

A product of Central Coast Sports College, where his team reached the NRL Schoolboy Cup finals, Fotu-Moala plays alongside fellow Rabbitohs prospect and Australian Schoolboys centre Dayne Jennings.

Known for his flair, vision, and ability to take on the defensive line, he has been likened to current NRL star Jarome Luai, with silky footwork and a natural attacking instinct that excites coaches and scouts alike.

This isn’t the first Roosters prospect the Rabbitohs have poached this year. Front-rower Phillip Lavakeiaho joined the club earlier and has quickly become a key figure in South Sydney’s SG Ball Cup premiership-winning side.

The Rabbitohs have also secured one of Queensland’s brightest young outside backs, with Dean Tauaa set to join the club from the Brisbane Broncos’ pathways system, further strengthening South Sydney’s junior talent pool and setting the stage for continued success at the SG Ball Cup level.
