Panthers forward Lindsay Smith has re-signed for a further two years, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2026 NRL season.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Penrith's most promising young stars, cementing himself in the lineup this season and becoming an integral part of their success.

Smith was already signed until the end of 2024, but the reigning premiers have moved to lock in the local junior and join the likes of Isaah Yeo, Liam Martin and James Fisher-Harris on long-term agreements.

The front-rower has played 21 games for the Panthers after progressing through the grades in recent seasons, and is now one week away from playing in an NRL grand final.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, Smith expressed his gratitude towards the Panthers.

“It’s pretty special to re-sign with the club, especially being a local junior,” he said.

“To be a part of this group for the next few years is very exciting and something I am looking forward to.”

Penrith boss praised the hard-working St Mary's product for his transition into the top grade.

“Lindsay developed through the Panthers system and we’re excited to see him remain with the club for another two seasons,” he said.

“Panthers prides itself on the built from within mantra and it’s always rewarding to see a local junior commit his future to the club.”
