The Brisbane Broncos have reportedly made a blockbuster offer to star front-rower Payne Haas, tabling a $3.5 million deal to keep him at the club amid growing interest from rival teams and the rebel R360 rugby union competition.
Widely regarded as one of the NRL’s elite props, Haas has built a stellar eight-season career, collecting five Dally M Prop of the Year awards, Rookie of the Year honors, Grand Final experience, and representative caps for both Australia and the NSW Blues.
Arguably at the peak of his career, the 25-year-old is poised to become one of the NRL’s most sought-after free agents, with his current contract set to run until the end of the 2026 season.
From November 1, Haas will be free to negotiate with rival clubs, and while he is already the highest-paid forward in the game, his next contract is expected to shatter records — potentially surpassing the deals of stars like Kalyn Ponga and Nathan Cleary.

In the same week the Broncos gear up to face the Storm in Sunday’s Grand Final, The Courier-Mail reports the club has tabled a three-year, $3.5 million offer for Haas, averaging $1.2 million per season.
“Honestly at this stage, we aren't going down that road (R360). I don't know exactly what is happening with R360,” Haas’ manager Ahmad Merhi told the media publication.
“Our main focus right now is doing a new deal with the Broncos.
“I hope Payne wins a premiership on Sunday night and after that we will look to sort his future out.
“Payne is a Bronco, I can't ever see him playing for another club.”
Despite the Broncos’ strong push, Haas has reportedly attracted interest from several Sydney-based NRL clubs, and is also rumored to have been offered up to $2.2 million per season by R360.
