The Roosters have bolstered their coaching ranks with the addition of former Wallabies boss Michael Cheika.
Joining the club as forwards coach for 2026, Cheika reunites with Trent Robinson, having previously worked with the Tricolours as a consultant.
The 58-year-old, who also serves as coach of the Lebanon rugby league team, has previously been linked with vacant NRL head coaching roles, with this appointment perhaps a nod to his future plans.

Robinson said he was excited to join forces with the Cheika once more.
"Michael and I have had a strong relationship for many years, and I’ve always admired the way he leads and challenges athletes," the three-time premiership-winning coach said.
"His experience in rugby brings a different perspective that will inspire and test our players and coaches.
"To have someone of his calibre join our program is exciting, and I’m looking forward to getting started.
Roosters football boss Mitchell Aubusson spoke about what Cheika's role would look like.
"Michael is a proven leader with a deep understanding of high-performance environments," Aubusson said.
"He has a unique ability to connect with athletes and bring the best out of them.
"We’re excited about the impact he will have, not only with our NRL forwards but also across our pathways as players and coaches continue their development."
The Roosters finished eighth in 2025, going down to Cronulla in the first week of the finals to end their campaign.
