The player exodus from Melbourne Storm could yet continue with prop Tui Kamikamica's future up in the air.
Since the end of the 2025 season, Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been released with two years remaining on his contract, Jonah Pezet has left for the Broncos via season at Parramatta and Ryan Papenhuyzen had his contract mutually terminated.
Now 31-year-old veteran Kamikamica could be headed for the exit door after only being offered the NRL minimum contract of $140,000 for next season.
The Fijian international had been paid around $400,000-a-season and he will only remain at the Storm next year if he takes a hefty pay cut.
Kamikamica had an opportunity on Saturday to persuade Storm officials for a better deal in Fiji's match against Papua New Guinea at the Pacific Championships, but the national team captain was concussed early and out of the contest within the first 20 minutes.
After making his debut for Melbourne in 2017, Kamikamica has played 138 matches for the club, including 24 games in the recent season, including the grand final loss to Brisbane.
Kamikamica was involved in a game-changing incident during the grand final where he dropped the ball instead of scoring try that likely would have sealed a premiership title for the Storm.
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy admitted that Kamikamica's mistake, which would have out the Storm up 28-10 in the second half, was decisive as they went on to lose 26-22.
"With that lead we had (we should have won), and I made that point with the dropped ball over the line was a big turning point," Bellamy said post-grand final.
"It was a no try and it would have made it 20 points in front. They then went up the other end and scored a try so that was a huge turning point."
