Manly have opted to keep faith with Brandon Wakeham, offering the versatile half a 12-month contract extension despite his struggles to force a way back into first grade.
The 26-year-old, who can line up at halfback or hooker, was part of the Sea Eagles’ extended squad in 2025 but never cracked the top 17.
Even so, the club has moved to secure him until the end of next season on a top-30 deal, giving him another shot at resurrecting his NRL career.

A chance to turn things around
Wakeham’s last appearance at the top level came in 2023 with the Wests Tigers, and his lack of game time since has seen his stocks dip. But Manly see untapped value in his experience and versatility, with the new deal signalling confidence he can find his best form again.
The retention comes amid a major reshuffle of the Sea Eagles’ roster, with several familiar names moving on as the club prepares for a new era on the Northern Beaches.
Wakeham’s extension ensures at least one steady option remains in reserve should opportunities arise in 2026.
