South Sydney have confirmed the signing of Latrell Siegwalt on a two-year deal, with the 24-year-old set to realise a childhood ambition of pulling on the Rabbitohs jersey.
The former Broncos squad member will link up with the club in 2026 on a supplementary contract before progressing into the NRL top 30 the following year.
Siegwalt has been one of the standout players in Queensland’s HostPlus Cup, featuring in 39 matches for Redcliffe in 2024, including the grand final, before impressing again with Souths Logan Magpies this season. His versatility across the backline, combined with reliable goal-kicking, makes him a valuable addition to Jason Demetriou’s squad.

‘It would be a dream to pull on the red and green’
Rabbitohs head of recruitment Mark Ellison said the Wagga Wagga-born playmaker had been open about his long-held ambition.
“Latrell is a mature young footballer looking for his chance to play at the NRL level, and with hard work and dedication, he can earn that opportunity here at South Sydney,” Ellison said. “He’s passionate about his football and has grown up as a South Sydney supporter, and he’s told us it would be a dream to pull on the red and green jersey.”
Siegwalt, who first caught attention at the 2023 Koori Knockout, also collected the QRL’s Rookie of the Year award in 2024. With his ability to cover fullback, halves and wing, the Rabbitohs are confident they have secured a player ready to make the step up to first grade.
