Sharks handed major boost as star returns from thumb injury image

The Sharks will be bolstered by the return of Jesse Ramien this weekend, with the centre cleared to play against the Bulldogs after recovering from a broken thumb.

The clash at Accor Stadium marks a significant milestone too, with Ramien set to make his 150th appearance for the club.

Craig Fitzgibbon confirmed the inclusion in his 22-man squad, offering stability to a side already humming with back-to-back wins.

With Ramien’s name back on the team sheet, Mawene Hiroti drops to the reserves, while the rest of the line-up remains unchanged from last week’s victory over Newcastle.

Sharks chasing momentum

Saturday night’s contest carries weight beyond personal milestones. Cronulla are eyeing a third consecutive win to close out the regular season, a run that would solidify confidence heading into the business end.

Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall again form the halves pairing, while Addin Fonua-Blake leads a forward pack that has begun to find its rhythm.

The Bulldogs, meanwhile, bring firepower of their own. With Stephen Crichton and Matt Burton in the backline, and Viliame Kikau returning to the starting side, the Sydney rivals have the quality to unsettle Fitzgibbon’s men if given space.

Kick-off is set for 7.35 pm on Saturday, with coverage across Foxtel, Kayo, Channel 9 and 9Now.
