Hull FC have secured the signature of Australian halfback Jake Arthur on a two-year deal, with the 22-year-old set to arrive at the MKM Stadium ahead of the 2026 Betfred Super League season.

The Newcastle Knights playmaker, who previously featured for Parramatta Eels and Manly Sea Eagles, described the move as a chance to “grow my footy game” while testing himself in front of a raucous English crowd.

Arthur, son of Leeds Rhinos boss Brad Arthur, made his NRL debut in 2021 and has built a reputation for his creativity in the New South Wales Cup, where he topped the assists charts earlier this year with 20 in just 14 outings. He insists the switch to Hull represents both a challenge and an opportunity.

'A crazy experience' in front of Hull’s fans

Speaking to hullfc.com, Arthur said: “I’m really excited. It’s a really great opportunity for me to come over to England and grow my footy game. Also, I’m really looking forward to linking up with the team. I’ve watched quite a lot of Hull FC this year and I really like the look of the team and how they play, so I’m excited to get in and amongst it.

“Hull play a real tough brand of footy. I’ll be looking to come in and try and take a bit of the pressure off Aidan [Sezer] and steer the team around the park. I can’t wait to come over and play in front of the crowds. You can hear how loud the fans are just watching on the TV – to play in front of it will be a crazy experience.

“I’ve got a few mates who have already been to England to play in Super League, and they say that the Hull fans are the loudest, so I can’t wait to get over there and represent the club in the best way I possibly can.”

Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Gareth Ellis, hailed the signing as smart business, adding that Arthur is a “young, hungry player” who has the attributes to thrive in Super League.
