The Dolphins have landed one of rugby league’s most sought-after signatures, securing star centre Herbie Farnworth with an extension that keeps him at the club.
It’s a major move from the 25-year-old, who will now prepare to face the Kangaroos in a three-Test series in the UK.
Farnworth extended his current contract by an additional year, putting pen to paper last night before flying out to his homeland of England.
With no hesitation about his future, Farnworth said the decision to stay with the Dolphins was straightforward in the club statement.

“This was an easy decision for me as I did not see myself going anywhere else,” he said.
“When I look at the roster the club has built for the Dolphins, I am so excited about what this team can achieve in the next couple of seasons.
“I believe we have the team to go with any other in the NRL and I can’t wait to see what we can do.”
Already contracted for 2026, Farnworth’s new deal ensures he won’t hit the open market on November 1.
Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader praised Farnworth’s impact, describing him as one of the premier players in the competition.
“This is a huge announcement for us as Herbie is simply one of the best players in the game,” Reader said in the statement.
“I’ve got no doubt if he had finished the season off with us rather than getting injured, the Dolphins would have made the NRL finals.”
