Storm legend Billy Slater believes Gehamat Shibasaki's spot in the Broncos team is now in jeopardy, following the side's remarkable 30-14 win over Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium.
Shibasaki was dropped for Thursday night's game against the Storm, after breaking the team's booze ban last weekend.
Despite the absence of their star centre, the Broncos put in a stunning performance against the second-placed Storm to secure a top-four spot.
Speaking on Channel Nine's post-match coverage, Slater said he can't see the 27-year-old returning for next week's qualifying final against minor premiers Canberra.

"Unfortunately I think he (Shibasaki) will pay the price next week," Slater said.
"I don't think Michael Maguire changes the team, other than Adam Reynolds coming back in if he's fully fit."
Slater also voiced his support for the Broncos' decision to axe Shibasaki during the week, believing a clear line had been crossed.
"I actually agree with the decision (to drop Shibasaki)," he said.
"The Broncos made a pact to stay off alcohol.
"That's not anything really about alcohol, that's actually a sacrifice.
"I've been a part of teams that have done that in the past, and he went off that and he went on his own."
Broncos great and fellow Nine commentator Darren Lockyer also questioned whether Shibasaki would return next week to face the Raiders.
"He (Shibasaki) was feeling bad about being dropped," Lockyer said.
"But I reckon he'll be feeling worse right now seeing that performance from the team and his spot is now in jeopardy."
