The minor premiership is safely in the club’s keeping for the first time in 35 years—and now the Canberra Raiders have made call on the prize money that accompanied it.
With the 2025 NRL finals series just one week away, the Raiders players have decided to share their $100,000 cut equally amongst all 38 members of the extended squad.
The decision means in addition to the club’s officially listed ‘top 30’ for 2025, Raiders development players and others on train-and-trial deals will also share in the spoils.
“We see ourselves as a tight family,” Sebastian Kris told the Canberra Times, explaining the Raiders’ playing group believes everyone who has been involved this season, even just in training sessions, has played a role in the club’s success.

“Everyone is equal—it takes a squad (to achieve success like this),” Kris said ahead of the final round match-up with the Dolphins at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe.
The club itself also receives an additional $100,000 for claiming the 2025 J.J. Giltinan Shield which was presented by NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo after the Round 26 win over Wests Tigers.
Win or lose against the Dolphins on Sunday, the Raiders will host the fourth placed team in week one of the NRL finals at GIO Stadium as their quest begins for the Green Machine’s first premiership since 1994.
