Bevan French is the frontrunner to claim the Rob Burrow Award for a second straight year, with bookmakers backing the Wigan Warriors star to repeat his Old Trafford heroics.

The dynamic playmaker, who claimed the honour in last year’s Grand Final, is priced at 7/2 with William Hill to be named Man of the Match once again.

If he delivers on those odds, French would join an elite group of players to have earned the accolade twice, a feat achieved only by Widnes’ Alan Tait and Wigan’s Andy Farrell. It would also mark the third successive season a Wigan player has taken home the Grand Final’s top individual prize, after Jake Wardle’s triumph in 2023.

French leads star-studded field of contenders

French’s teammates Jai Field and Mikey Lewis, both Man of Steel nominees, sit close behind at 4/1, while Harry Smith follows at 6/1. Jez Litten is next at 8/1, with Arthur Mourgue and Tyrone May both available at 10/1 after the former was cleared to play following an injury scare.

Beyond that, Liam Marshall sits at 14/1, while the likes of Elliot Minchella, Oliver Gildart, Wardle, and Adam Keighran hover around 16/1.

Whoever prevails this weekend will join a distinguished list of past winners, including Rob Burrow himself, Kevin Sinfield, Leon Pryce and Paul Wellens, ensuring their name is etched among rugby league royalty.
