Landon Dickerson injury update: Latest news, updates after Eagles guard carted off during practice image

The Eagles were felled by an unfortunate bit of injury luck on Sunday evening, as star guard Landon Dickerson crumbled to the turf after appearing to suffer an injury to his lower right leg during practice.

Dickerson, 26, is one of the league's best players at his position, known for his versatility, ferocity and pass- and run-blocking prowess. His development, coupled with that of his linemates, has propelled Philadelphia's pass and run game to new heights in recent seasons.

With that, here's what you need to know about Dickerson's apparent injury.

Dickerson exited Philadelphia's practice session at Lincoln Financial Field after suffering an apparent lower leg. It's unclear what prompted the Eagles standout to go down. But he had to be helped off the field, appearing unable to put weight on right leg, per ESPN's Tim McManus.

The home crowd hushed as players dropped to their knees in support of their fallen teammate. Dickerson was brought to the sideline before being transported to the locker room via cart.

A focal point in Philadelphia's world-renowned offensive line, Dickerson is one of the NFL's best guards. He racked up his third Pro Bowl appearance in 2025 and landed a four-year, $84 million contract in 2024 — the biggest deal for a right guard in league history.

His play prompted Philadelphia to allow Mekhi Becton to walk during the offseason. Becton, who started 15 games at right guard last year, inked a two-year, $20 million deal with the Chargers.

The Eagles did secure a Becton replacement of sorts in 24-year-old Kenyon Green, who they acquired in the CJ Gardner-Johnson trade back in May. Still, Green doesn't have the pedigree of Dickerson, who was slated to slot into his natural position of right guard after spending the past few seasons on the left.

Dickerson was set to get an MRI on Monday, August 11. While we are still waiting for the official diagnosis, the thought is that he has suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee, per Adam Schefter

The MRI revealed that it is only a minor meniscus injury for Dickerson, per Schefter. The Eagles lineman will have surgery on his knee and will be considered week-to-week. There is still a chance that he will be able to suit up for Week 1.
