The NFL journey of former Wallabies talent Jordan Petaia has stalled, after the 25-year-old was waived due to an undisclosed injury by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Petaia joined the Chargers through the NFL's International Player Pathway (IPP) in April at Tight End, and looked set to become the league's newest Aussie talent, but an injury looks to have cut this short.
To replace him, the team have signed another Australian IPP product - Thomas Yassmin - who spent last season on the Denver Broncos practice squad.

He was waived heading into Week 2 of pre-season, and replaced by a fellow Aussie in Thomas Yassmin, a Sydney product who attended the University of Utah.
This comes after Petaia did not suit up for the Chargers in their pre-season opener against the Detroit Lions in the Hall of Fame Game.
