Bears vs. Packers final score, results: Chicago rallies from 18 down to stun Green Bay as Caleb Williams shines image

JUMP TO:

The Bears embraced the dramatic on Saturday night, rallying from 18 points down to record the biggest postseason comeback in franchise history en route to a 31-27 win over the Packers.

Chicago and Green Bay's longstanding feud reached a fever pitch during the wild-card round, with both sides landing haymakers upon the other. The Packers started the affair with aplomb, racing out to a double-digit lead amid a barrage of Jordan Love touchdowns.

The Bears looked lethargic, caught in a stupor as Green Bay's dominance shined through. Love looked like he was on the precipice of a historic display, although his performance slowed as Chicago built its way back into the game.

The action crescendoed in the fourth quarter, a 15-point frame that saw both sides combine for 31 points. The Bears were responsible for 25 of them, with Caleb Williams, DJ Moore and Colston Loveland all making vital contributions to put Chicago in a position to win.

With 1:43 left, Williams found Moore streaking into the corner of the end zone. The toss was one of numerous highlights for Williams, who overcame two interceptions to break the franchise record for most passing yards in a playoff game (361). It wasn't a perfect day for Williams, who missed his receivers on a fair few occasions. But he saved his best for last, a noted trait among the league's best gunslingers. He'll look to keep the good times rolling in the divisional round. The Bears will host at least one more game at their beloved Soldier Field.

Who won the Bears vs. Packers game?

(All times Eastern)

End of fourth quarter: Bears 31, Packers 27

11:35 p.m.:  A muffed snap forces Love to attempt a Hail Mary on the final play of regulation. His effort falls harmlessly to the turf, giving the Bears an 18-point comeback victory!

11:31 p.m.:  An injury to a Green Bay lineman will cost the Packers a 10-second run-off. Center Elgton Jenkins was felled by an apparent lower body injury while Love hit Reed to push further into Bears territory. Lecitus Smith will take over for him.

11:30 p.m.:  Doubs rips Love's effort out the sky to collect the first down. Timeout Packers. There are just 44 seconds left. That's Green Bay's final timeout.

11:29 p.m.:  Reed was unable to reel in Love's effort around the middle, pushing Green Bay to the brink.

11:28 p.m.:  Golden bests Kyler Gordon, evading his marker on fourth down to keep the Packers' hopes alive.

11:27 p.m.:  Love and the Packers are facing third down after falling short of the first-down marker. Just a minute left in regulation.

11:23 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN!  Williams finds DJ Moore as the Bears take the lead for the first time today! What a performance by the second-year talent!

Bears 31, Packers 27

11:15Ip.m.: MISSED FIELD GOAL!  McManus' effort spurns left! His foibles could prove costly tonight! The Bears will set up shop at their own 35 with a little less than three minutes to go.

11:11 p.m.:  Golden makes another major intervention, stretching high to field Love's toss! The Packers continue to work the clock.

11:09 p.m.:  Doubs corrals Love's lofted toss with one hand as the Packers move the chains and traipse into Chicago territory.

11:04 p.m.:  Williams finds Olamide Zaccheaus for the score! Then, he hits his favorite target, Colston Loveland, to cut Green Bay's advantage to three! What a game!

Packers 27, Bears 24

11:03 p.m.:  Williams stood tall in the pocket and found Kyle Monangai, who got a crucial block before turning upstream and moving the chains on third-and-long. The Bears are inside Green Bay's red zone.

11:01 p.m.:  Williams drops a pearl into Rome Odunze's lap. The off-footed toss moved the chains on fourth. Williams' arm talent is next level. Chicago survives for the time being.

10:55 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN!  Golden fielded a screen pass from Love before leaving three defenders on the canvas and racing into pay dirt for the score. That's his first career touchdown! McManus proceeded to miss the extra point. But Golden's contribution will certainly prove memorable.

Packers 27, Bears 16

10:53 p.m.:  Love finds Doubs, who races past his marker to move the chains and give the Packers' defense a much-needed reprieve.

10:45 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN!  D'Andre Swift dances through the tackles to bring Green Bay's lead to just five!

Packers 21, Bears 16

10:30 p.m.: FIELD GOAL!  Santos tacks on another three as the Packers' advantage drops to two scores.

Packers 21, Bears 9

End of third quarter: Packers 21, Bears 6

10:20 p.m.: FIELD GOAL!  Chicago cuts into Green Bay's advantage as Cairo Santos splits the uprights from 34 yards out.

Packers 21, Bears 6

10:00 p.m.:  The Packers will start the half with possession of the ball. They'll look to add to their lead in the quarters to come.

Packers 21, Bears 3

9:35 p.m.: MISSED FIELD GOAL!  Brandon McManus' effort spurns the target from distance. The Packers' lead sits still at 21-3.

9:30 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS!  The Bears cannot convert on fourth down at the moment. They surrender possession once more — their third failed fourth-down attempt of the day.

9:22 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN!  Love hits Doubs for his third touchdown of the day! This one is shaping up to be a rout.

Packers 21, Bears 3

9:15 p.m.: FUMBLEROOSKI!  Love found Watson once more with a fiery toss, who proceeded to carve up Chicago's defense and brace for the end zone. But as he approached the goal line, Tyrique Stevenson dislodged the ball, looking to have secured the stop the Bears desperately needed. But the pill landed in yellow hands, in the end.

9:10 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS!  Chicago's aggression on fourth continues to cost it. Another fourth down ends in ashes, with the Bears surrendering possession inside its own 35 after Williams' toss to Burden misses its target.

9:02 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN!  Love hits Reed as the Packers push their lead to 11!.

Packers 14, Bears 3

8:55 p.m.:  The Packers' attack is humming. Sizable gains by Josh Jacobs and Matthew Golden (via Love toss) has Green Bay deep inside Chicago territory.

8:45 p.m.: INTERCEPTION!  The Bears' attack opted to trot back onto the field on fourth-and-short. It came to regret that decision immediately, with Williams missing multiple open receivers before placing the ball right into Carrington Valentine's waiting grasp.

End of first quarter: Packers 7, Bears 3

8:32 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN!  Love finds Christian Watson as the Packers move out in front.

Packers 7, Bears 3

8:28 p.m.:  The Packers strike for their first fireworks, with Jordan Love finding Romeo Doubs for the chunk play. Green Bay is on the brink of the end zone.

8:22 p.m.: FIELD GOAL!  Chicago opens the scoring with a field goal! The Bears showed plenty of might in their opening drive.

Bears 3, Packers 0

8:20 p.m.:  The Bears' opening drive has proven effective so far. They're already up to 12 plays and find themselves on the cusp of the end zone.

8:10 p.m.:  And we're off! The Bears will start the contest with the ball!

7:45 p.m.:  Things are getting chippy ahead of this one! We've already had one fracas spill over on the field, with both sides colliding into one another. Will be interesting to see if this carnage carries over to tonight's contest.

7:00 p.m.:  Chicago will sport all-navy for tonight's contest. Saturday's game represents the first time the team will don such attire since 2022.

6:30 p.m.:  Here's a look at the Bears and Packers' inactives ahead of tonight's clash. Green Bay RT Zach Tom's absence should loom large in this one.

4:30 p.m.:  The forecast for tonight's contest looked a bit ominous, with rain and wind expected to fall upon Soldier Field. However, recent projections indicate things could hold up come opening kickoff.
