The New York Giants are 0-2 to start the 2025 NFL season and they are in a must-win situation on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs (0-2). Offensive tackle Andrew Thomas missed the first two games of the season.

During the week two matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, James Hudson was the left tackle on the first drive, but he committed four penalties. Hudson was then pulled from the game for rookie Marcus Mbow. Mbow played well and many Giants fans want him to stay on the field even if Thomas were to return to the field against the Chiefs. What is the latest status of the offensive tackle for Sunday night?

New York Giants Andrew Thomas Will Be a True Game Time Decision Most Likely on Sunday

Thomas has been trending in the right direction all week long. He has been progressing each week, but this might finally be the time that he can finally get onto the playing field in real live action. Dan Duggan of the Athletic was covering what Giants head coach Brian Daboll had to say on Friday about his status for the Chiefs matchup. Duggan said,

"Much more guarded optimism from Daboll on Andrew Thomas. Said they could take the decision up until game time. I also wouldn’t rule out a rotation with Marcus Mbow at left tackle. Also, sounds like there’s going to be a lot of legitimate “questionables” when the injury report comes out later."

Considering he is most likely a true game-time decision for Sunday night, it feels as if he is progressing to potentially playing. However, there could also be a chance that he waits another week to potentially suit up. If Thomas were to be ruled inactive right before the game, Mbow would probably get another start at left tackle.
