The Kansas City Chiefs lost in the Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles by a final score of 20-17 on Sunday. With the loss for Kansas City, they are 0-2 to start the season.

This is the first time since 2014 that the Chiefs are 0-2 to start a season. This is the first time in Patrick Mahomes's career that this has occurred. There are many things wrong with Kansas City in the first two weeks of the 2025 NFL season. Is there a chance that it is going to get worse for them? Is the Chiefs dynasty already over or is it time to the pump the breaks?

Kansas City Chiefs Dynasty Is Not Over yet, but Analysts are Concerned

The Chiefs are 0-2 to start the season, but the dynasty is not over just yet. The good news for Kansas City is that they will have a chance to get right next week on the road against the New York Giants (0-2). The Giants are 0-2 for the 10th time in 13 seasons. Kansas City will be six-point favorites on the road against New York.

If the Chiefs were home against the Giants, they would be close to a nine to 10-point favorite. This goes to show that Vegas thinks Kansas City is still good and that New York is so bad. Many people are going to pick the Chiefs to beat the Giants next week.

Ted Nguyen of the Athletic thinks that there is some concern for the Chiefs at 0-2. Nguyen said,

"The Chiefs’ defense played much better than it had in Week 1. The secondary was sticky and didn’t give up much, even though Eagles QB Jalen Hurts had enough time to make a cup of coffee in the pocket nearly every time he dropped back. The Chiefs’ four-man pass rush is a major concern, though. Offensively, they’re struggling without their top two receivers, Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice.

This is the second week in a row that Kelce made a crucial red zone mistake. Last week, he slowed down instead of running on a shallow cross, which cost the Chiefs a touchdown. This week, he dropped a pass at the goal line that turned into an interception. The good news is he looks more nimble than he did last year, but the passing game is just out of sync. At 0-2, the Chiefs can’t afford any more mistakes. Things would be so much easier if they had a healthy run game."

The good news for the Chiefs is that the offense can finally get going in week three on the road against the Giants. New York has one of the worst offenses in the NFL this season. The Chiefs defense has not been great over the first two weeks, but they will find a way to slow down the Giants offense after scoring 37 points against the Dallas Cowboys.

However, if Kansas City does somehow lose to the Giants next week, then the dynasty is over. The Chiefs after the Giants will play the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs have a chance to be 1-3 after four weeks in the season.
