The Green Bay Packers defense during the first three weeks of the season has been one of the best in the NFL. When they faced Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, the Packers defense looked anything but elite.
The game ended in a 40-40 tie. The offense was very productive in this matchup. A week ago, the offense let the defense down against the Cleveland Browns. In this game, it was the defense that let the offense down. Packers' superstar Micah Parsons was not thrilled about this game ending in a tie.
Green Bay Packers Micah Parsons Believes He Let Jordan Love Down
Parsons no doubt spoke his mind after the game ended in a tie. He said to Matt Schneidman of the Athletic about letting down quarterback Jordan Love and the offense,
"We let him down. Giving up 40 points, bro, I don’t care where we’re playing. That’s just unacceptable, for me and everyone. I’m not even pointing fingers, just we got to find a way to get off the field and we didn’t do a great job at that tonight. And I take ownership. Coach in there took ownership. But ownership is one thing … doing something about it is another."
Love had a tremendous game by completing 31-of-43 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 28 yards on three carries in the game. The offense had a tremendous night.
Josh Jacobs rushed for 86 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 71 yards receiving. Romeo Doubs also caught six passes for 58 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
Despite the big game from the offense, the defense was not able to get the job done. A tie is better than a loss for the Packers. With that being said, hopefully this game does not come back to haunt this team later in the season when potential tiebreakers occur for playoff seeding.
