With just one week before the 2025 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers traded for Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys for Kenny Clark and two first round picks. When Parsons suited up for Green Bay on Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions, he recorded one sack in a 27-13 win for the Packers over the Lions.

His presence on the field was no doubt different for Green Bay's defense. The team recorded four total sacks in the game against the Lions offense. Parsons already made a difference in one game, and he didn't even have a full training camp to get himself ready for the 2025 NFL season.

Green Bay Packers Micah Parsons Talks About What Happened with Him and the Dallas Cowboys

Parsons spoke to reporters after the game in an easy Packers win over the Lions. He mentioned about what happened between him and the Cowboys over the last several months. Parsons said to Matt Schneidman of the Athletic,

"These last six months was super draining, super toxic for everyone. It's something that I don't think no player should have to go through ... The fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough. It's something where I could've been with these guys getting better and better and we could've had probably (an) even more dominant start.

These guys embraced me. They believe in my talents. They believed in me and I'm just gonna give these guys everything I have because I know what's at stake and I know what they gave up for me to be here and I'mma do what it takes for us to win."

Parsons understands that the Packers traded away two first round picks in order to get him via trade. The Cowboys should have traded him before the 2025 NFL Draft and Dallas would have gotten more in return for him. But of course, owner Jerry Jones messed up and didn't get as much in return for Parsons.

For some reason, it was a messy situation between Parsons, the Cowboys, and Jerry. Green Bay will be facing the Cowboys on the road in Week 4 on Sunday night football in Jerry World and there is no doubt that Parsons has that game circled on his calendar. Parsons is also in a better situation to win a Super Bowl this season with the Packers. He would not have won a Super Bowl with the Cowboys and Parsons is better off in Green Bay for the long haul.
