Dallas Cowboys find Micah Parsons replacement in latest mock trade image

The Dallas Cowboys defense was getting gashed in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles without Micah Parsons around. Parsons has been thriving in his first two games with the Green Bay Packers, and the Packers defense looks elite with him around now.

Dallas is preparing for the week two matchup against the New York Giants. The Cowboys defense is going to be a major question mark as the weeks go by. They brought in Jadeveon Clowney for a visit earlier this week, but he left the building without a contract. Can Dallas ever find its Parsons replacement before the end of the 2025 NFL season, or no?

Dallas Cowboys Find Potential Micah Parsons Replacement in potential mock trade with the Miami Dolphins

Kristopher Knox of bleacherreport.com created seven different mock trades in his latest article. In one mock trade, Knox has the Cowboys trading for Miami Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips for a 2026 fourth-round pick. Knox said about Dallas finding its Parsons replacement,

"Hill isn't the only player the Dolphins could look to unload ahead of a potential 2026 rebuild. Pass-rusher Jaelan Phillips is another logical trade candidate if Miami decides it can't contend this year.

Phillips showed promise early in his career, logging 22 sacks over his first three seasons. However, he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in 2023 and a season-ending knee injury in 2024.

With Phillips set to be a free agent in 2026, Miami likely has a short window in which to get something in return.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, could use added help on the edge after trading away Parsons. Phillips certainly wouldn't replace Parsons' skill set, but he'd give Dallas another promising player to go with Dante Fowler Jr., Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland and rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku."

There is a very good chance that the Dolphins could have a massive fire sale at the trade deadline if they are out of contention by then. There may not be much of a market for Phillips, but Miami would look to trade him for something if they don't have any plans to re-sign him after the season ends. Phillips recorded two tackles in week one against the Indianapolis Colts.

Phillips is a former first round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and was drafted the same year as Parsons was. A change of scenery could potentially benefit the current Dolphins edge rusher. His name may not appear on the trade market much at the moment, but the Cowboys or other teams could potentially call Miami about the edge rusher if the Dolphins decide to sell.
