The Dallas Cowboys defense has been a major disaster throughout the first two games of the 2025 NFL season. Dallas was hoping to slow down Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears offense on Sunday.

However, the Cowboys defense struggled once again, and the Bears won by a final score of 31-14. With the loss, Dallas dropped to 1-2 on the season and they have major questions with the defense. Cowboys' defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus faced his former team for the first time since being fired by Chicago last year. There are a lot of fans who are already upset with him just after three games of the season.

Dallas Cowboys Fans Already Want Matt Eberflus Fired

There are a lot of issues with the defense in 2025 and a lot of it is just not scheme. DaRon Bland is injured, Micah Parsons is no longer here, and the list goes on and on. Even despite that, Cowboys fans want Eberflus fired and there expressed their frustration with him on social media.

Even if Dallas decided to make this move, the same problems would still occur. The issue with this defense starts with owner Jerry Jones. He didn't make enough moves this offseason to improve the defense and he also traded away his best defensive player on the roster to the Green Bay Packers. Parsons will make his return to Dallas next week with Green Bay.

The same defensive problems are going to be showing against Jordan Love and company. This is just going to be a season where Dallas is going to have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Eberflus may not be a great defensive coordinator, but the issues have to do more with personnel rather than the scheme itself.
