Tim Tebow shares encouragement for Arch Manning after tough start to season image

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning has had a rough start to his first year as a college starter, but one former Heisman Trophy winner had some encouragement for him on Thursday.

2007 Heisman Trophy winner and former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow appeared on the Rich Eisen Show and had some advice for Manning.

"I'd encourage him, like, 'Man, you're a gifted player. You're a realy good player. You just need to be encouraged,'” Tebow said, via Sports Illustrated "He's at a location right now with great coaches, great players around him, but he's just under a lot of pressure. The pressure's real, and it's hard sometimes explain that to people."

Manning has generated a lot of hype heading into the season, but his performance has been underwhelming. He has thrown for 579 yards, with six touchdowns and three interceptions in three games.

His loss to Ohio State in Week 1, where he only scored one touchdown late in the fourth quarter, raised doubts in people's minds about whether he can be one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season.
