The Texas A&M Aggies are 2-0 this year in college football, but they have won both games easily. Texas A&M is the 16th ranked team in the country.
On Saturday night, the Aggies will head on the road to face the 8th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Notre Dame is 0-1, but they lost to the Miami Hurricanes in the opening week of the 2025 college football season. The Irish have playoff expectations this season. However, if the Aggies can pull off the upset on the road, there is a chance that Texas A&M could potentially be a playoff team.
Texas A&M Aggies Fans Concerned About Being Underdogs On the road Against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Bet MGM has Notre Dame as a 7-point favorite over Texas A&M in Saturday night's matchup. The Aggies lost to the Fighting Irish last season and many Aggies fans are worried about this game. This is what some Texas A&M fans said on Twitter about being underdogs:
I am an Aggie and considering we haven’t beat a ranked team on the road in a few years I will not hold my breath.

Until I get proven wrong, I think my Ags lose by 7

ND wins and covers…..A@M too many question marks on D, and the QB hasn’t played well for the most part in big games

It is going to be interesting to see how the Aggies defense will try and slow down the Fighting Irish offense. Marcel Reed for Texas A&M so far this season has completed 66.1% of his passes for 509 yards and seven touchdowns. He is also the team's leading rusher with 105 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
If the Aggies were to lose this game to Notre Dame, it won't look bad in the grand scheme of things because they still have SEC Conference play to look forward to. If the Fighting Irish were to lose, then they drop to 0-2 and have to win every game for the rest of the season in order to make the playoffs. Texas A&M's offense cannot be one dimensional or they will not win the game against a better football team.
