Tarleton State University is located in Stephenville, Texas, and is a rising Texas A&M University System member. Largely considered the fastest-growing institution in the system, the School drew national headlines earlier this year for defeating Army at home, 30-27, in double overtime. This league was formed from the merger and rebranding of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and the ASUN Conference.
Starting July 1, 2026, nearly all of Tarleton State's sports teams, including football, basketball, and baseball, will compete in the United Athletic Conference, while beach volleyball will continue to compete in Conference USA.
