The Australian Boomers suffered a heartbreaking 95-88 loss to Spain in the FIBA World Cup semi-finals, ending their gold medal aspirations. 

Their chances of a first international medal are still alive, with a bonze on the line in the third-place game, where they will face France after they went down 80-66 to Argentina in the other semi-final.

Fox Sports will broadcast 29 total World Cup games, including every Boomers game as well as every Team USA game. Aussies can catch all 92 games of the World Cup on  Kayo Sports, including full and condensed replays.

The 32-team 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup competition will be held Aug. 31-Sept. 15 in China. Eight cities will host World Cup games - Beijing, Foshan, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Nanjing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The Boomers are in Group H, alongside Canada, Senegal and Lithuania, tipping off their campaign against Canada in Dongguan, China on Sunday 1st September 2019.

After coach Andrej Lemanis initially named his 12-man squad, Mitch Creek and David Barlow were called in to replace the injured Xavier Cooks and Jonah Bolden, who left the team for personal reasons.

The squad features five current NBA players, six players from the NBL and Jock Landale, the sole European-based player.

Australia finished their World Cup preparations with a 2-3 record, splitting their two-game series' against Canada and Team USA in Australia, before going down to Germany 74-64, following their historic win over Team USA in Melbourne.

According to Bet Easy, Spain are the favourites to win the World Cup Final, while France have the edge over the Boomers in the third-place game.
