Warriors make surprise starting lineup announcement due to Stephen Curry injury image

The Golden State Warriors had to send out a new starting lineup for Game 2 against the Timberwolves.

But they weren't necessarily expected to pick the arrangement they chose.

They start center Quinten Post, who didn't start Game 1.

The Warriors' other option was likely to start Gary Payton II and keep Draymond Green as the starter at the 5.

Instead, it's the solid shooting big fella Post.

"(Warriors are) prioritizing extra size and space around Jimmy Butler," beat writer Anthony Slater wrote on X.

But there's one concern, too.

"Post is an extra big for Edwards/Wolves to attack," Slater added.

Post is 7-feet tall and shoots 40.8 percent from 3-point range.

We'll see how this move works out for Steve Kerr as Golden State chases a 2-0 series lead.
