It's time for baseball's best teams and biggest stars to shine as the MLB playoffs get underway.
Shohei Ohtani and the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers are back for more glory, along with the team they beat to win in 2024, the Aaron Judge-led New York Yankees.
The field of contenders runs deep this year, however, as those two traditional powers didn't finish among the top two in their respective leagues. The Milwaukee Brewers, who have never won a World Series, posted an MLB-best 97 wins during the regular season, one more than the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Toronto Blue Jays took top honours over the Yankees on the American League side and will seek their first championship since 1993, while the upstart Seattle Mariners, led by breakout star Cal Raleigh, are also trying to win it all for the first time.
