Melbourne Cup - the race that stops the nation - is ready to be run for the 165th occasion.
A full field of 24 horses will run over 3200 metres to decide the winner of Australia's most prestigious horse races.

What time does the Melbourne Cup 2025 start in Queensland?
With the race beginning at 3:00 p.m. AEDT in Melbourne on Tuesday November 4, this means it will start at 2:00 p.m. AEST in Queensland.
Whilst other eastern states observe daylight savings time, Queensland does not.
How to watch the Melbourne Cup 2025
This year’s Melbourne Cup will be broadcast live on free-to-air in Australia on Channel 9.
Sky Racing will also show the race, but it will be on delay and not live.
If you can’t get to a TV on Tuesday, the Melbourne Cup will be available to stream live on Channel 9’s streaming platform 9Now.
While the Melbourne Cup will not be shown on Foxtel or Kayo it will be streamed on the Racing.com website and app.
