Rosehill will host its biggest raceday of the spring carnival this Saturday, with the running of the fifth Golden Eagle slated to headline a massive day at the track.

The $10 million showdown will see some of the best four-year-olds from across Australia compete, with the meeting to go head-to-head with the time-honoured Victoria Derby in Melbourne.

Kolding took out last year's event, while other past winners include I'm Thunderstruck and I Wish I Win.

The Sporting News has all the details on the Golden Eagle below.

What is the Golden Eagle?

Introduced in 2019, the Golden Eagle is a set-weights race contested by four-year-olds over 1500 metres each spring and compete for their share in $10 million worth of prize money.

Despite the quality of horses involved, the race is yet to earn Group 1 status, similar to The Everest.

When is the 2023 Golden Eagle?

This year's Golden Eagle raceday will take place on Saturday, 4th November.

The race will be eighth on a 10-race card and will jump at 4.45pm AEDT.
