The world's richest race on turf will return for another edition this October, with the running of the $20 million TAB Everest at Royal Randwick.
In an early shake-up, Giga Kick has been ruled out through injury, leaving likes of I Wish I Win and Think About It to assume favouritism.

When is The Everest 2023?
The Everest is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th.
Part of a 10-race card at Randwick, The Everest is set to kick off at 4:15pm as Race 7.
Where is The Everest run?
The Everest takes place at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney’s east.
The track is roughly 6km from the CBD of Sydney and is one of the city’s most iconic racing venues.

How to watch The Everest 2023
Channel 7 will again show the race on free-to-air TV as it has for the past few years, with live coverage set to start from midday featuring all races from Randwick.
Sky Racing will also broadcast the big race, as they have in previous years.
The Everest 2023 prize money
The total prizemoney for The Everest has increased to $20 million, cementing it as the world's richest race on turf.
The winner will take home $7 million, while connections from the bottom-half of the race will receive $700,000 each.

What conditions are The Everest run under?
The Everest is an Australian Turf Club weight for age, thoroughbred horse race over 1200m.
How do horses apply for The Everest?
The Everest is a slot race, which means that slot-holders pay for a horse to be included in the race.
Typically, investors pay $600,000 in advance and then find a horse to fill the slot. In an effort to control quality, only 12 horses may enter the race.
Despite being one of the biggest races of the year, The Everest is not classed as a Group 1.
