Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen is a name not too many golf fans know, but he's making his presence felt in the first round of the 2025 U.S. Open.
Neergaard-Petersen, 25, hails from Copenhagen, Denmark and turned professional in 2023, joining the European Challenge Tour and DP World Tour.
In just his second appearance in a major, Neergaard-Petersen fired an eagle on No. 4 at Oakmont to put himself one stroke off the lead. There's plenty of golf still to be played, but the young Dane is playing well beyond his years.
