F1 Miami Grand Prix 2024: Time, schedule, TV channel, live stream for race week

Max Verstappen picked up his fourth win from five races in 2024 at the Chinese Grand Prix last time out, and ahead of the sixth meeting of the season, he'll again be looking to lead the way at the Miami Grand Prix.  

After meetings spread across the Middle East, Oceania and the Far East to open the season, the 20 drivers head stateside for the first of three races on US soil in 2024. The action at the Miami International Autodome, built specifically to host this Grand Prix, begins on Friday, May 3, with a single free practice session. 

Like with the Chinese Grand Prix, a 19-lap sprint challenge will take place on the day prior to the race proper in Miami, doing so for the first time at this circuit and adding an extra dimension to the weekend. Qualification for the sprint takes place after the free practice session on Friday, May 3, with the sprint itself on Saturday, May 4 at midday. 

Once the sprint challenge has concluded, attention switches back to race day and qualifying begins at 4:00 pm local time (ET). The sixth race of the 2024 F1 season starts exactly 24 hours later on Sunday, May 5, with 57 laps between the drivers and the chequered flag in Florida. 

One of the newer events on the Formula 1 calendar, the Miami Grand Prix was first held in 2022, and both previous editions have been won by a familiar face. Max Verstappen's dominance of the past three seasons has seen him sweep aside all challengers at the Miami International Autodome, and the 19 other drivers will all be keen to put a stop to that.
