The A-League season so far

Melbourne City soared to the top of the table last weekend after thumping bottom side Melbourne Victory 7-0.

Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners remain in the fight for the Premiers Plate but both failed to pick up three points last time out.

Brisbane Roar and Western United bolstered their top-six hopes with recent victories and will back themselves to claim another three points this weekend.

Sydney FC face a busy week after consecutive draws with intriguing games against Central Coast Mariners and Victory to come.

With no wins across their past five games, Western Sydney Wanderers need to claim three points against Victory on Friday night with their spot in the top six quickly coming under risk.
