Netherlands vs. Poland lineups: Predicted starting XI, team news, rosters, match details as Lewandowski returns in World Cup qualifying image

Netherlands host Poland in a huge World Cup qualifier on September 4 in Rotterdam.

The Oranje were on ruthless form in their 8-0 demolition of Malta in Groningen last time out, but head coach Ronald Koeman admitted some concern after his first-choice XI drew 0-0 with the Dutch reserves in a training game this week.

Memphis Depay's penalty and stunning strike, complemented by Virgil van Dijk's emotional goal at his former stomping ground, showed the attacking might of side that have scored 10 goals in two matches.

Poland are on the road under fresh leadership after Jan Urban was appointed coach following June's disappointing 2-1 defeat to Finland, which shattered their perfect qualifying start and led to the departure of Michal Probierz.

Urban immediately recalled and restored the captaincy to Robert Lewandowski, which ended the Barcelona striker's brief international retirement.

The Eagles' talisman returns hungry to prove his worth in a game that could go a long way towards deciding automatic World Cup qualification from Group G.

Ronald Koeman was able to call upon most of his senior players for the September World Cup Qualifiers.

Memphis Depay overcame recent injury concerns and viral infection to earn his recall to the squad. The Corinthians forward could lead the attack with Cody Gapko and Tottenham's new recruit Xavi Simons.

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen also returns to the squad after missing the Netherlands' last two games against Finland and Malta this year and is expected to start between the posts. Meanwhile, Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong remains unavailable due to a hamstring injury.

Feyenoord captain Sem Steijn earns his first international call-up alongside Robin Roefs of Sunderland.

Netherlands predicted lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Verbruggen (GK) — Dumfries, Van Dijk, Van Hecke, Van de Ven — De Jong, Gravenberch, Reijnders — Simons, Depay, Gakpo

Netherlands full roster

Goalkeepers: Bart Verbruggen, Mark Flekken, Robin Roefs

Defenders: Virgil van Dijk, Matthijs de Ligt, Stefan de Vrij, Nathan Ake, Jurrien Timber, Denzel Dumfries, Micky van de Ven, Jan Paul van Hecke

Midfielders: Ryan Gravenberch, Frenkie de Jong, Teun Koopmeiners, Tijjani Reijnders, Quinten Timber, Jerdy Schouten, Justin Kluivert, Sem Steijn

Forwards: Cody Gakpo, Xavi Simons, Memphis Depay, Donyell Malen, Noa Lang, Wout Weghorst.

Jan Urban has almost a full-strength squad at his disposal and, with the comeback of Lewandowski, The Eagles would be optimistic about their chances.

But Lewandowski comes with a limited game time. The Barcelona star sustained an hamstring injury in early August, which led to him missing the Spanish champions' final preseason game and La Liga opener.

While he is expected to start, Urban could consider lining up with Adam Buksa and Karol Swiderski.

Poland predicted lineup (3-5-2, right to left): Skorupski (GK) — Bednarek, Kedziora, Kiwior — Cash, Zielinski, Szymanski, Slisz, Zalewski — Lewandowski, Piatek

Poland full roster

Midfielders: Piotr Zielinski, Sebastian Szymanski, Bartosz Kapustka, Nicola Zalewski, Jakub Kaminski, Przemyslaw Frankowski, Jakub Piotrowski, Bartosz Slisz, Kamil Grosicki
