Huge Champions League final bonuses revealed for Inter Milan and PSG image

Inter Milan players have been promised a €10 million ($11.3m) bonus by the club should they emerge victorious in tonight’s UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Serie A giants Inter have already committed to a €3 million ($3.4m) bonus pool for reaching the final, a reward that reflects the club’s impressive run to Munich. However, should Inter defeat PSG and lift Europe’s most prestigious club trophy for the first time since 2010, that figure will jump significantly.

The €10 million sum would be distributed among the first-team squad, meaning each player would receive approximately €400,000 ($453,000). It’s a strong financial incentive that underlines just how much is riding on the game for Simone Inzaghi’s side, both in sporting and economic terms.

Saturday's final which takes place at the Allianz Arena in Munich, pits Europe's two best sides together with the prize pot for the competition also surpassing €2.34 billion ($2.54bn), up from €2.04 billion ($2.21bn) last season.

A win for Inter would see them pocket over £90 million if they lift the trophy on Saturday night, while Paris Saint-Germain would earn close to £77 million as runners-up.

However, if the French champions go on to win it, their reward would be in the region of £82 million, with Inter still expected to earn a similar figure despite falling short in the final due to the club's differing performances in the league phase.

For PSG, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made a remarkable gesture of his own.

The Qatari businessman is footing the bill for over 600 of the club’s employees to attend the final in Germany.

That includes everyone from administrative staff to ground crew, all of whom will be flown out and accommodated to watch the club’s second Champions League final in four years.

Sources close to PSG say the move is Al-Khelaifi’s way of recognising the collective effort that has helped guide Luis Enrique’s side to the final.

The Champions League final kicks off at 8pm UK time (3pm ET in the USA), with Inter chasing a fourth title and PSG still hoping to lift the trophy for the first time after falling short in 2020.
