The long-anticipated 'Battle of Britain' is upon us at the World Cup, and England face Wales with last-16 qualification on the line.

LIVE: Follow World Cup updates from England vs Wales match

The Three Lions have edged into the lead of Group B but their hopes of glory in Qatar could still come crashing down. But in order for that to happen, Wales must regroup and rediscover their giantkilling best.

Gareth Bale and Co. were dismal in defeat to Iran, leaving them trailing in Group B at the foot of the table and hanging on to only a slim hope of progression. It's win or bust for the Dragons.

The sides last met at a major tournament in Euro 2016, where England got a late 2-1 win, though Wales would have the last laugh by reaching the semifinals.

Below are the confirmed lineups for both teams based on the latest news leading up to the match.

England vs Wales lineups

All eyes in the England camp are on Harry Kane, after the Three Lions talisman was pictured with a badly swollen lower leg after the USA draw.

The Tottenham star underwent scans after being substituted in the 76th minute against Iran, and played all 90 minutes against USA. Should Gareth Southgate risk his captain against Wales?

The England coach said: "Harry's fine in terms of the knock he had, everybody keeps saying it's his ankle but it's his foot.

"At this point we've got pretty much everyone available to select from, which is a great position to be in."

Kane won the Golden Boot at the last World Cup but has yet to score at this tournament.

For Wales, there will be an enforced change in goal following Wayne Hennessey's red card against Iran, while coach Rob Page will likely risk Joe Allen from the start.

Below are the confirmed starting lineups for both teams ahead of their match at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on 29 November.

England starting 11

(4-3-3, right to left): 1. Pickford — 2. Walker, 5. Stones, 6. Maguire, 3. Shaw — 22. Bellingham, 4. Rice, 8. Henderson — 20. Foden, 9. Kane, 11. Rashford

  • Injured: None
  • Suspended: None

Phil Foden was finally handed his first start of the tournament, following much clamour to get the Manchester City man involved. He lines up in a new-look front three alongside Marcus Rashford, while captain Harry Kane is fit to chase his first goal of the tournament.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson starts his first major tournament game since the semifinal defeat to Croatia in Moscow four-and-a-half years ago, while Kyle Walker features in a competitive match for the first time since getting injured in the Manchester derby at the start of October.

Wales starting 11

Wales starting lineup (4-3-3, right to left): 12. Ward — 3. Williams 5. Mepham, 6. Rodon, 4. Davies — 15. Ampadu, 10. Ramsey, 7. Allen — 11. Bale, 13. Moore, 20. James

  • Injured:
  • Suspended: Hennessey

Wales needed to win and potentially win big tonight and boss Rob Page is going for it. There are three changes to the side that lost to Iran, with the influential Joe Allen introduced in midfield and Dan James bolstering the attacking options.

Danny Ward, in for the suspended Wayne Hennessey in goal, will play behind a back four rather than a back five by the looks of things.
