Matildas squad: Sam Kerr set to return in front of home fans image

A familiar set of faces is set to take on New Zealand later this month for the Matildas, as preparations for next year's Asian Cup heats up.

Notably, captain Sam Kerr is set to play on Australian soil for the first time in more than two years, after overcoming multiple injuries to return to the Matildas squad last month.

Kerr is joined by 23 other teammates in the Matildas squad, who are set to face New Zealand on Friday, November 28, and Tuesday, December 2.

Despite a disappointing loss to England in the side's last friendly, coach Joe Montemurro hasn't overhauled the squad too much, making just three changes.

Cortnee Vine, the Matildas' hero from the 2023 World Cup, is the most notable omission, as her, Morgan Aquino and Jamilla Rankin make way for Kahli Johnson, Chloe Lincoln and Tameka Yallop.
