With the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand now less than 600 days away, the official match schedule has been released.
The tournament will kick off at Eden Park in Auckland on July 20, 2023 before finishing with the final at Stadium Australia in Sydney on August 20, 2023.
This Women's World Cup will be the ninth edition with the United States coming in as defending champions after lifting the trophy in France in 2019.
The 2023 tournament will take place in nine cities across Australia and New Zealand with 64 games to be played in the space of one month.
The Matildas have been placed in Group B for the World Cup and will kick off their group campaign in Sydney before heading to Brisbane and then Melbourne.
Should they top their group, Australia would then host second-place from Group D at Stadium Australia in the round of 16. Win that and the Matildas would play a quarter-final in Brisbane and semi-final in Sydney.
If they finish second in Group B, Australia would instead play the winner of Group D in Brisbane where victory would allow them to play all remaining games in Sydney.
