Liverpool bagged a 1-0 win against Arsenal at Anfield in their previous Premier League game prior to the international break.
Following a goalless first half, the Reds’ sole goal of the match came as Dominik Szoboszlai found the back of the net with a stunning 30-yard free kick in the 83rd minute. The 24-year-old became the first player to score a direct free-kick in a Premier League match between Liverpool and Arsenal since Philippe Coutinho in August 2016, and the first at Anfield since a Patrik Berger strike in August 1999.
Now, Szoboszlai's winning free kick against Arsenal has been voted the Guinness Goal of the Month for August. His goal was selected among the eight contenders shortlisted across the top flight throughout the month.
With this, Szoboszlai made history and became the first Hungarian player to win one of the Premier League's monthly awards.
The Reds head coach, Arne Slot, heaped praise on Szoboszlai following the win on August 31, claiming that the midfielder 'understands what a Liverpool player should look like.'
What did the Liverpool boss say about Dominik Szoboszlai?

"He's always been the player that I think he understands what a Liverpool player should look like. If you wear this shirt, you should give everything no matter in what position you play. As a midfielder, he's always the first one to track back and to press high," as per ESPN.
"And today I don't think he did anything wrong. Unbelievable game from him in the position he probably played only two or three times in his life so it tells you a lot about the mentality he has."
Slot, who has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for August, and his squad will be making the trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley on September 14.
