Nicolas Jackson’s summer was anything but quiet.
The Senegal striker left Chelsea on deadline day to join Bayern Munich in a dramatic loan deal, and the Champions League draw wasted no time in throwing him straight back into his old world.
His new club will host Chelsea on Wednesday, setting the stage for an emotional return.
The 24-year-old admitted he could not believe his luck when he first saw the draw. “I was in London. When I saw it I was like: fun game, I have to be ready for that,” Jackson said.
“We’re playing against nice teams: my former club Chelsea, we’re playing against [Paris Saint-Germain] and many good clubs. Hopefully we’ll get amazing results.”

What Jackson said while joining Bayern
For Jackson, Bayern represents a fresh start. Chelsea fans never fully warmed to him, and moments of inconsistency hurt his reputation at Stamford Bridge.
He was even booed off at times, while two red cards late last season only added to the tension.
Yet, his numbers were far from disastrous. Jackson scored 30 goals in 81 matches for Chelsea, including 14 in his debut season — more than Didier Drogba managed in his first campaign in West London.
That record, plus a Conference League and Club World Cup win, means his time at Stamford Bridge should not be viewed as a failure.
At his unveiling in Munich, Jackson made his feelings clear. “It was tough — a tough time. Difficult moments in those last days. But I was very confident I will stay here because this is where I want to play and want to be,” he said. “
I’ve watched Bayern all my life. It was a dream to join this massive club. When they called me I was excited and ready to come and play for them.”
Nicolas Jackson reveals his current preference
The forward joined Bayern on a loan worth around £14 million, with a £54m obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.
But as Bayern legend Uli Hoeness explained, those terms may be difficult. “He won’t play 40 games from the start,” Hoeness told Sky Germany, hinting that the permanent clause could prove unrealistic.
Jackson, however, is not concerned. “My focus is on giving my best here. Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world,” he told BILD.

With Harry Kane alongside him and Chelsea looming on the horizon, Jackson’s next chapter promises goals, drama, and maybe even a little revenge.
