Barcelona had a sensational 2024/25 campaign under Hansi Flick as they bagged the domestic treble and were a step away from reaching the Champions League final against PSG.

Overall, they were exceptional in attack as the likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres scored crucial goals and played a major role in the team's success.

While all of them are expected to match their numbers from last season, there are questions over Lewandowski's future and form.

At 37, Lewandowski is in the final year of his contract and far from his prime years therefore the Blaugrana are plotting a succession plan for the Polish striker.

While Bayern Munich's Harry Kane was one of the primary names present in their shortlist, there have been others who have caught the eye of Barcelona hierarchy.

As per reports via BILD, Barcelona have added Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy to their striker's shortlist to replace Lewandowski next summer.

Guirassy has been on fire in Germany for the last few years and he finished with 38 goals last season across competitions.

The 29-year-old, who has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe netted 13 goals in the Champions League last season, matching Raphinha's goal tally for the highest goals in the competition.

Why are Barcelona chasing Dortmund's Guirassy?

The 2023/24 season was Guirassy's breakthrough campaign as he finished with 30 goals from 30 games for Stuttgart.

The Guinean striker then joined Dortmund in July 2024 for €18m transfer fee and since then he has never looked back.

Guirassy has scored 43 goals in 55 matches for Dortmund across all competitions including five goals in six matches this season.

Hansi Flick reportedly is a big admirer of the Dortmund striker and believes he could flourish at Camp Nou in his aggressive attacking system.

Guirassy is a natural goalscorer and with his performances in recent times he is expected to have multiple suitors therefore there could be a bidding war for the Guinean which would raise his price.

However, he has all the qualities to succeed Lewandowski as he is physical, fast, has great football IQ and also has exceptional understanding of space in the final third.

He is also decent in buildups and a powerful ball-striker which makes him one of the best options out there alongside Kane and Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez.

Overall, it will be interesting to see which striker Barcelona ultimately targets next summer to fill up the void that will be left by Lewandowski.
