Fallon's false alarm: PDC's 'Queen of The Palace' addresses health confusion image

Fallon Sherrock, the PDC's first female darts superstar, has revealed in an exclusive interview with Darts World that she will not be taking a year off from the oche in 2026, contrary to how a recent interview was interpreted.

The former Women's World Matchplay Champion spoke with Online Darts in May, and fans were led to believe that 'The Queen of the Palace' would be forced to miss the 2026 season due to an operation that she requires to treat ongoing health issues.

Fallon explained to our reporter Paul Mason that this isn't the case, and the procedure needed is routine, with the treatment only keeping her out of action for a short amount of time.

"In a previous interview, I did say that it was a case of 'IF' I had to take a year off, and it got blown out of proportion" said Sherrock.

"I'm still not sure where I am health-wise, but I've looked into it more, and the most I will miss is a one floor tournament and maybe a couple of exhibitions".

"I'm not going to be taking a whole year out, I will still be playing, it's just the recovery time".

Talking in Milton Keynes on a PDC media day, days after Sherrock played at the Women's Series at Arena MK in the City, Fallon seemed content with her weekend's work.

Two appearances in the final from four events left her in a strong position to claim a place at the 2025/26 PDC World Championship, where she played on five previous occasions.

The most celebrated of these occasions was, of course, the 2019/20 edition, where she gained worldwide notoriety for becoming the first female player to win at the flagship event. defeating both Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic at Ally Pally before falling to Chris Dobey in round three.
