The 2024 IPL season got underway on Friday, March 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time (IST), as defending champions the Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The new season will run for just over two months, culminating with the final match on Sunday, May 26.
