Claressa Shields is the reigning undisputed heavyweight champion

Claressa Shields (16-0, 3 KOs) will defend her undisputed heavyweight championship on a Salita Promotions event on July 26 at the Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit against Lani Daniels (11-2-2, 1 KO).

This will be "T-Rex’s" second fight of the year after she was crowned undisputed at heavyweight in February with a unanimous decision win over Danielle Perkins in her home city of Flint, Michigan.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist and five-weight world champion will defend her undisputed heavyweight crown for the first time, live on DAZN.

Her opponent, Lani "Smiling Assassin" Daniels, is a 36-year-old boxer from New Zealand, who is the first and only IBF world light-heavyweight titleholder in history.

Her brace of defeats and draws all came within her first eight bouts. She is unbeaten in her last nine fights and six years.

Shields returns to the venue where she became the WBC heavyweight world champion in 2024, when she took the green and gold crown from Vanessa Lepage by knocking her out in the second round.

30-year-old Shields holds the record for becoming a two, three, four and five division female world champion in the fewest professional fights.

Her 17th opponent has never been knocked out, but appears to be a mismatch on paper.
