Aussie Ben Simmons has narrowly missed out on a spot in the starting squad for the 2019 NBA All-Star Game.

Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker earned the two starting spots for the Eastern Conference with Simmons just behind.
Through the first 48 games of the season, Simmons is averaging 16.6 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
After recording his eighth triple-double of the season the hopes of being announced as Australia's first All-Star grew.
Simmons finished fourth in the fan vote, fifth in the player vote and third in the media vote.
His weighted rank had him tied with Miami's Dwyane Wade, but the fan vote served as the tiebreaker meaning Wade finished in third place overall.

Simmons' fate now lies in the hands of the NBA head coaches who will select the seven reserve players.
TNT will unveil the reserves (seven players from each conference), on Friday, Feb. 1 during TNT NBA Tip-Off at 11am (AEDT).
