Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Treloar appears to have hit a crossroads in his career and one former footy player believes his future lies elsewhere in 2026.
The 32-year-old has played 258 games across his career with the Giants, Collingwood and the Dogs, earning his first All-Australian honour last season.
But a series of calf injuries restricted Treloar to just four games this season, a round eight clash with Port Adelaide and then a three-game stint from rounds 13-15.
Sadly for Treloar and the club, he is fit right now, playing the last two VFL matches for Footscray and set to play in a preliminary final next week.

But he is off contract at the end of this season and former Adelaide ruckman Josh Jenkins said he wouldn't be offering Treloar a new deal for 2026.
“I wouldn’t,” Jenkins said on SEN Sportsday. “They are not winning a premiership on the back of Treloar being in or out of the team. No chance.
“You’ve got to find out about (Ryley) Sanders around the ball. You’ve got to give (Joel) Freijah the opportunity. He’s still playing out on the wing, he’s going to be an inside mid. Treloar just gets in the way.
“My thinking is 80 per cent towards Sanders and Freijah getting more opportunities, and if Treloar’s on your list, you will pick him because he’s a good player.
“But the other 20 per cent is he doesn’t help their issues. He probably makes their issues around the ball worse.
"He makes their issues worse because he’s a ball watcher, he’s a ball hunter. They’ve got to have way more balance around the footy and that was proven this year.”
The Bulldogs finished ninth in a disappointing season under Luke Beveridge, who will already be planning for a return to finals football next year.
While he doesn't see Treloar as part of the club's plans moving forward, Jenkins does believe there will be plenty of other suitors for the skilled midfielder.
“I would suggest there would be four or five clubs getting straight in line to grab him,” he added.
